- Hand Dyed Fabric
After returning from another trip to the coast, I have begun a piece that I am excited about. This was from a recent trip, that my husband and I took for the purpose of taking pictures for Art pieces. This one makes me smile, because he doesn’t particularly enjoy the beach. He goes because I love it. And I love him for that! I was able to dye the sky fabric today and am happy with it so far. Next, I’ll be adding the water. Ocean Textile Art I’ve been working on an ocean scene this week. I couldn’t find just the right fabric for the sky, so I ombré dyed a piece myself. I wanted it to be darker near the top. It turned out just like the sky from the photograph that I’m working from, so I’m pretty happy about that. I’ll be heading to Carmel soon to take pictures, and I just can’t wait! When I finished dyeing this fabric, it was just too pretty to cut up for the textile piece that I’m working on. So, I decided to make a lap blanket with it. I just love how it turned out. The design reminds my of hydrangea flowers. I’m having so much fun dyeing fabrics that I’m planning on adding more of these to my online shop. You can find it here. -Cynthia
